Spring roads bans on

Mar 21, 2011 | 6:17 AM

Truckers will have to stay off some roads for the next few weeks.

At midnight, provincial spring roads bans were put into place in the south of the province. It means vehicles weighing too much, will have to stay parked.

In late March or early April, depending on weather, the same ban will go into place in the northern region, which includes the Prince Albert area.

With the warmer temperatures, frost rises to the surface and makes the highways susceptible to softening and cracks.
