An RCMP tactical team has arrested a man wanted in up to nine bank robberies across Western Canada.

Mounties say a 26-year-old suspect was taken into custody Friday afternoon at a motel in Grande Prairie, Alta.

No one was hurt in the takedown and charges are pending.

Police say the first robbery was Dec. 1 in Princeton, B.C. and then eight days later, the same robber was 200 kilometres to the north, where he held up a Vernon financial institution.
