Old man winter returns from holiday

Residents in the Prince Albert and Melfort areas were reaching for their snowbrushes Wednesday morning.

The Prince Albert area received five inches of snow overnight.

A snowfall warning continues for the Melfort, Kinistino, Star City, Nipawin, Choiceland and Tisdale areas.

Those areas could see 10 to 15 centimetres of snow by day’s end.

Highway Hotline reporting some less than ideal driving conditions.

Icy slippery sections, snow packed, loose snow, swirling snow reported for roads in the Prince Albert area.

The City of Prince Albert has issued a snow route parking ban.

Parking is prohibited on priority one streets. These streets are marked with signs.

If the Priority 1 streets are cleared before the 48 hours has lapsed and there is no threat of a continuing storm, the parking ban may be withdrawn sooner. 

Vehicles not removed from the street will be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
