Jan 27, 2015 | 6:35 AM

The City of Prince Albert has been awarded the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for its annual financial report for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2013.

The award, which recognizes excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting, was created to encourage municipalities to elevate reporting standards and convey their financial story clearly to readers.

“I would like to congratulate our staff who sought to raise the standards of our financial reporting,” said Mayor Greg Dionne in a statement. “This is a significant accomplishment.”

The 2013 report is available on the City’s website.
