RCMP return stolen vehicle to owner

On Jan. 9 at around 8 p.m. Nipawin RCMP were called to a business where a vehicle was stolen.

RCMP said the owner of a truck left his car running while he ran back into work and not long after they saw their vehicle speed away.

An hour later officers said they found the vehicle, which didn’t get very far, a few blocks from the business.

24-year-old Raini Henderson was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property, Impaired Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle and Failing to Comply with Undertaking Conditions.

Saskatoon Police and Montreal Lake RCMP also have a warrant for Henderson’s arrest following other Breaches of Conditions.

He was taken into custody following the truck theft and will appear in Melfort Provincial Court the morning of Jan. 13.

This is not the first case of vehicle theft during the winter months and RCMP said no one should leave their car running unattended and unlocked.
