Regina stadium builders adjust work for cold, strong winds

People on the Prairies are hardy folk but on windy, snowy, cold days, those working outside in Regina may need to take a step back.

Think about the workers high in the sky in the cranes over the stadium build. Four cranes operate there, one of which is about the height of a 33-storey building.

To put it into perspective, imagine working on the roof of the Delta in downtown Regina.

“When you reach winds up to about 72 kilometres an hour, then they have to shut down or when the temperatures get below -25,” said Mike Zurowsky, the design build manager with the stadium project.
