Dec 22, 2014 | 11:33 AM

Tru North Homes in Prince Albert can help to make your dream home a reality.

Since 2003, Tru North Yamaha, RV and Marine has built a reputation for being the best place in Prince Albert to shop for boats, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and extended stay trailers. Today, with the business’ recent expansion and the creation of Tru North Homes, it now also specializes in manufactured home sales. Manufactured homes involve a method of building a home or structure off-site in a manufacturing facility, is in most cases a more affordable construction method with a quicker turn-around rate.

Ron Bonneau, sales manager at Tru North Homes said they were looking at diversifying their business at Tru North Yamaha, RV and Marine, and they felt that there was an interest and greater need for this type of service in Prince Albert and area.

“We felt there was a niche there and it was something we had a passion for that derived from our park models sales, so we decided to spread it out a little bit,” said Bonneau.

“And once we decide on something we go full bore, we don’t waste time,” he added.

A manufactured home from Tru North Homes takes approximately 90 days from the time it is ordered to the time it is built, delivered and then set up. All of the homes are Canadian-made lines designed and built by Grandeur Manufactured Homes in Winkler Manitoba or SRI Homes in Estevan, Sask. Prices range, but can begin at under $100 per square foot.

The sky is the limit, said Bonneau, when it comes to the desired square footage, design, floor plans, and décor. Each home is built to suit each individual client’s needs and can be custom made. Every home is Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) approved and built to provincial housing standards.

“These are manufactured homes they are not … RVs, so CMHC and the banks will mortgage these homes,” said Bonneau.

The main difference between a manufactured factory-built home and a stick-built on-site home is the controlled environment it is built in. To sum it up, the elements cannot damage or delay production of the home’s construction.

“It’s less cost than a stick-built home and it’s the same quality,” said Bonneau. “It offers a quick turn-around time from purchase to turning the keys over to the new owner.”

Tru North Homes promises to be there and assist their clients every step of the way after purchasing a home through them including delivery and set up. Right now, Tru North Homes is also offering a blow-out sale that includes a free furniture and appliance package to the first 10 homes sold.
