Five years after an off-duty Mountie was shot in Carrot River, RCMP has arrested a suspect.

Const. Gregory Toogood suffered serious injuries to his arm when he was shot on his backdoor step on Jan. 16, 2006.

A 21 year old man was arrested Friday in Saskatoon. He appeared in Melfort Provincial Court this morning charged with aggravated assault, wearing a mask and numerous weapons related offences.

The man's case was adjourned until Mar. 17 for a bail hearing in Carrot River.
