Veterans gather for annual appreciation dinner in P.A.

Nov 28, 2014 | 10:27 AM

The annual Veteran Appreciation Dinner at the Prince Albert Indian and Metis Friendship Centre was held Thursday night.

Around 70 people came together to share a meal, while enjoying entertainment and speeches remembering the sacrifice of our veterans.  It wasn’t only veterans in attendance, their families and friends, as well as ones of those who have passed, were also there.

The event started with a grand entrance that included powwow dancers, elders and veterans walking around the room as First Nation drummers performed. A meal full of roast beef, ham and other goodies followed.

The Centre said the dinner is held near the end of the month when veterans aren’t as busy with Remembrance Day events.
