Man struck and killed by truck on northern First Nation

A 60-year-old man has died after being struck by a truck on a grid road on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

The man, who was from Sturgeon Lake, was walking eastbound on Sturgeon Lake Road on Tuesday night just before 6 p.m. when the truck hit him.

According to the RCMP, the man was walking in the middle of the road and the truck’s driver did not see him in time.

The driver of the truck, a 67-year-old man, stopped immediately to tend to the man while he called for emergency services.
