Oct 31, 2014 | 6:17 AM

The City of Prince Albert has formally declared its intention to demolish the old SPCA building and the Girl Guides Hall.

As the City released its proposed 2015 budget, deep in the general operating fund documents was the statement that it will not be setting aside funds for either buildings.

The old SPCA building is currently vacant, now that the Prince Albert SPCA has moved to its new location on North Industrial Drive. The salary, wage and benefit amounts associated with this building will be transferred to the facilities general account.

The Girl Guides Hall is also vacant, as the local Guides were to have left it by September. The building was eyed for repair or closure, with a decision expected this fall.
