Removing collision insurance from your licence plates not under consideration, says minister

The Saskatchewan government is now allowing insurance agencies other than SGI to sell car licences, raising an alarm for the opposition NDP who see this as a move to dismantle the Crown corporation.

The change to allow other insurance agencies to sell car licences was made a few days ago. Now, NDP House leader Kevin Yates says his party expects more change.

“We're also aware that the Sask. Party government is under active consideration and planning to after the 2011 election remove collision insurance from your licence plates,” said Yates.
