Highway 55 near Snowden pushes towards permanent fix

Jun 19, 2014 | 12:52 PM

Since early May Highway 55 has been reduced to one lane after a washout of the road.

Now a permanent fix will be put into place to help get traffic flowing again.

A pair of two metre-wide culverts will be installed on Hwy 55 just west of Snowden.

“Highway 55 is an important east-west corridor in the northern part of the province, and that’s why we’re ensuring the situation is properly addressed with larger, steel culverts,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister Nancy Heppner said in a statement.
