Provinces named their Under-16 Development Camps this summer and they contain a ton of local players: eight Prince Albert Raiders draft picks and another three players from PA.

Of the PA products, Jake Hobson, (Portland’s 3rd round, 65th overall this year) Riley Sawchuk (Tri-City’s 6th round, 116th overall) and Landon Markovich (Calgary’s 9th round, 195th) all made Team Saskatchwan’s Top-42 camp in July.

They will be joined by two Raiders picks, defencemen Ty Prefontaine (5th round, 96th overall) and Ashton Heidt (6th round, 127th overall).

The Raiders first rounder from this year, goaltender Ian Scott, will be a big name on Alberta’s Top-80 Development Camp roster. Scott was picked ninth overall by the Raiders, the highest a goaltender has gone in the WHL draft since Carey Price was picked by Tri-City in 2002.
