A Little Magic coming to PA

May 14, 2014 | 12:37 PM

Local magician Roger Boucher and his wife Adreanna are bringing their popular show back to Prince Albert, and this time he’s got a few new acts to show off.

“We’ve developed a totally new show,” Roger Boucher said. Boucher added that while the show is family friendly there is a new act that might require some parental guidance.

“There’s needle swallowing, we kind of suggest an age of 10, so kids can understand it better,” said Boucher.

Boucher had a show recently in Saskatoon that was sold out.

“I was really happy, we can’t complain,” said Boucher. “Lots of great feedback, people said they liked the way the show went, they enjoyed the routines.”

He added that the new needle swallowing routine made one of his family members nervous.

“One of my sisters had been there and she was freaking out, she had never seen me do anything like that before,” said Boucher.

Boucher is no stranger to magic having practiced for over 12 years with shows in both Saskatchewan and Alberta.

“This will be my fourth year in Wainwright for Canada Day,” said Boucher. “I was in Vermillion for a few things, we did their fair there one year and then the Canada Day celebration another year.”

Boucher said his interest started back when he was in university.

“I went to university and there was a magician in residence on my floor,” said Boucher. “He performed some for the floor.”

He said after having a few personal shows from this magician he instantly became hooked.

“I bought a book and started practicing on my own,” said Boucher. He has since become a member of the Canadian Association of Magicians.

The two shows are set for May 30 and 31 and Boucher said tickets may go fast.  “We’ve sold out in PA before,” said Boucher. “The last time we did a show in PA, it was two years ago, it sold out and people had to get turned away at the doors.”

The Prince Albert Sharks will be offering bar and snacks at the show as well.

Both shows start at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m., but before all the tickets magically disappear you can buy them beforehand at Canadian Tire for $20.
