Sask. children ditch Mother’s Day call in favour of text

May 11, 2014 | 11:48 AM

It's a sign of the times as more people take to texting rather than phone calls to wish their moms a happy Mother's Day.

In 2009, a million long distance calls were placed on Mother's Day but this Sunday , SaskTel expects the number to be half that.

It's because instead of dialing on their phones to warm the hearts of dear old mom, people will instead be sending million of text messages.

SaskTel expects more than six million Mother's Day text messages to go out Sunday.
