Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for a large portion of east-central Saskatchewan Wednesday evening.

The warning affects the Prince Albert, Shellbrook, Spiritwood and Duck Lake regions.  It also includes, Saskatoon, Martensville-Warman, Rosthern, Wakaw, Outlook, Watrous, Humboldt, Wynyard, Foam Lake, Melfort-Tisdale-Nipawin-Carrot River, Hudson Bay and Porcupine Plain.

According to the Environment Canada website, a strong low pressure system is causing heavy snow to fall over central Saskatchewan. The heaviest snow is expected to last well into the overnight hours, by which time 10 to 15 cm will have fallen. The areas which are most likely to receive the heaviest amounts of snow are from Saskatoon northeastward through Hudson Bay.
