Visitor restrictions lifted at Victoria Hospital

Feb 16, 2011 | 9:25 AM

People can go back to visiting on the pediatric unit at Victoria Hospital.

Visitor restrictions were removed this morning, after an outbreak of a gastro-intestinal illness earlier this month. The provincial laboratory confirmed that samples from the unit came back positive for norovirus.

The Prince Albert Parkland Health Region had been isolating the individuals who were showing symptoms.

Earlier this week the region dropped the visitor restrictions at the Herb Bassett Home’s Golden Hill.
Visitors are still being asked to perform hand hygiene upon entering and leaving the unit and those who have had recent symptoms of an illness are also asked to delay their visits.
