Raiders defeat Hitmen 4-0

The Prince Albert Raiders defeated the Calgary Hitmen 4-0 on Tuesday night in Prince Albert to jump ahead of the Swift Current Broncos in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Rookie goaltender Eric Williams stopped all 29 shots in the victory to pickup his first WHL career shutout in the victory.

The Raiders opened the scoring at 5:08 of the first period when Jonathan Parker and Antoine Corbin broke in two on one on the Hitmen defence. Corbin fed the pass to Parker who kept the puck and wristed it past Hitmen goaltender Brandon Glover.

The Raiders struck again just 1:39 later on the power play when Brandon Herrod would finish off a give a go play from the corner with Todd Fiddler to extend the Raiders lead to two.

James Bettauer capped off a three goal first period effort by the Raiders when he jumped up into the play and went in 3 on 2 with Justin Maylan and Igor Revenko. Maylan passed the puck cross ice to Bettauer who one timed it past Glover making it 3-0 Raiders heading into the second.

The score would remain 3-0 through the second and into the third. Mark McNeill would score the fourth and final goal for the Raiders when his backhand shot on net from the corner redirected off of Glover and into the open cage.
