Business of the Day: TNT Trucks and Toys

For so many, life events can affect a very delicate credit score.

A divorce, a job loss, late payments, or simply being a young buyer with no credit history, can hurt the all-important credit score. Credit scores have traditionally been used to decide whether or not one is able to make a major purchase like a vehicle.

Wes and Errin Thompson recognized that need and in the fall of 2011, they set up the TNT Trucks and Toys dealership at 1282-Sixth Avenue East. They were determined to make sure any working person would be able to own a quality vehicle at a low interest rate.

“We see all kinds of situations,” said general manager Shawn Stavely. “People come here having gone through a divorce, bankruptcy; who have no credit or bad credit due to a variety of reasons. We work with all those circumstances to get customers approved.”

This locally-owned and operated dealership has a number of banks and private lenders that say ‘yes’ to vehicle purchases. Their rates can be as low as 4.9 per cent.

Recognizing that many customers coming to TNT with credit issue may already be feeling uncomfortable, Stavely pointed to the TNT philosophy of creating a no-pressure atmosphere. The belief is that this helps clients feel at ease and better able to make an informed and relaxed decision about a major purchase.

“We are dedicated to providing first-class customer service to each and every person who walks through our doors. We truly care about our customers,” he says.
