Sask Valley Vipers win Bantam AAA Showcase

Goaltender Joel Grzybowski saved all 29 shots for the shutout as the Sask Valley Vipers beat the Humboldt Broncos 1-0 to win the Bantam AAA Showcase tournament Sunday at the Art Hauser Centre.

Benson Thorpe scored the only goal of the game 2 minutes to give the Vipers a 1-0 lead heading into the third period.

The Broncos had a 1:41 two-man advantage with 4:41 left in the game but couldn't capitalize despite several good scoring chances.

The Vipers haven't lost much this year, as they went undefeated in six tournament games and are 13-0-4 in Saskatchewan Bantam AA hockey league regular season play.

The Vipers and the Broncos were in the same pool, with the Vipers winning that game 5-1 in the group stage. They were undefeated in four pool games and a semifinal match.
