UPDATED: One charged, one in serious condition after early morning stabbing

A man has been charged in connection with an early morning stabbing in Prince Albert, which has left a 29-year-old man in serious condition in hospital.

Parkland Ambulance paramedics and Prince Albert Police Service officers responded to the scene of the reported stabbing located in the 1200 -block of 14th Street West at 1:35 a.m. There, they found a man at the rear of a residence suffering from multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital for treatment, but has since been airlifted to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon in serious condition.

According to the police, a 44-year-old man who now faces charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon fled the scene prior to their arrival. He was located by the Saskatoon Police Service and taken into custody. He will be transported back to Prince Albert.
