Jan 12, 2011 | 11:19 PM

Wednesday’s game was the third time in the past eight days these two teams have met and the Raiders 4th win of their past five games.

The Raiders wasted little time getting up on the Wheat Kings and scored 3:54 into the game on the power play. Parker one timed the pass past goaltender Corbin Boes to get the 1-0 lead.

Andrew Herle would extend the lead to just two minutes later. Herle broke into the Wheat King zone and his initial shot was blocked by the Wheat King defender. He quickly grabbed the loose puck and snapped a shot past the out of position Boes.

The Raiders continued their first period dominance when at 13:09 of the frame, Igor Revenko found Brandon Herrod all alone in front with a back hand pass from the corner that Herrod one timed past Boes making it a 3-0 hockey game.

Jonathan Parker added his second of the game before the period was done to make it 4-0 heading into the second.

The Wheat Kings would start to push back in the second and scored two goals just over a minute apart to put the game back in reach.

MarkMcNeill would restore the Raiders three goal lead when he was able to out battle two Wheat King defenders for the loose puck and fire it past Boes, giving the Raiders the 5-2 lead heading into the third.

Goaltender Liam Liston would replace Corbin Boes in net for the Wheat Kings for the third period.

The Wheat Kings opened the scoring early on in the third cutting the lead to 5-3. It was a Tyler Yaworkski wrist shot that extended the Raiders lead back to three which only lasted 31 seconds.
