Accused in PA drunk driving deaths appears in court

The man facing charges in connection to a July 14 car crash that killed two Prince Albert women made his second appearance at Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Prince Albert Monday morning.

Jeremiah Jobb, 21, of Prince Albert is facing 12 charges in relation to the incident including two counts each of impaired driving causing death, exceeding .08 causing death, causing death by criminal negligence, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

About a dozen family members and friends of the two victims, Brandy Lepine, 17, and Taylor Litwin, 21, were in court for the hearing.

The appearance lasted just a few minutes as Jobb’s defense counsel agreed to his remand until a July 31 bail hearing.

Outside the courthouse, Brandy Lepine’s mother, Josephine Ledoux, said she is still processing what happened to her daughter.

“I’m really saddened that all of this, all of the sudden happened. I’m still mad, I’m really mad. I’m really mad that it took two lives and now my granddaughter is lying in a hospital,” she said.

Lepine’s baby, Aurora Skye Brandi Ledoux, has been in critical condition at Saskatoon Royal University Hospital since the crash.
