Roughrider single-game ticket sales strong as ever

Jun 2, 2013 | 12:40 PM

As the Saskatchewan Roughriders took the field for training camp Sunday, the organization was in its second day of single-game ticket sales.

This season promises to be a big one for the club as the 2013 Grey Cup Festival will be hosted in Regina for the third time in the last 20 years. In February, the organization announced it would be spending $14 million dollars to accommodate more fans at Mosaic place. Around 6,500 new seats will be added to the stadium by Labour Day and an additional 4,000 after that. That will bring total capacity to around 44,000 fans—a little higher than the population of Moose Jaw.

And according to Roughrider vice President of business development Gregg Sauter, those seats are already being filled.

“We’ve seen our season ticket numbers climb as high as we’ve ever seen them, and single-game tickets are following that trend as well,” said Sauter in an interview Saturday afternoon.
