Graffiti season upon us

May 8, 2013 | 12:17 PM

With the warm weather, comes more vandalism in the form of graffiti.

To help keep Prince Albert clean, the city is reminding citizens of its Anti-Graffiti Paint Program. This program encourages home and business owners to reduce graffiti vandalism by “reporting it, recording it and removing it.”

“Studies show that removal within 24 to 48 hours results in a nearly zero rate of re-occurrence,” wrote Greg Zeeben, director of community services in a news release. “With this program in place, the city would like to provide some assistance to residents that are interested in immediately removing graffiti from their property.”

If unwanted graffiti happens upon your property you can apply to the city to receive a free paint kit. Each kit includes one gallon of paint, tray, brush/roller and gloves to assist in painting over the graffiti.
