Potential for ice jamming near Prince Albert

May 1, 2013 | 6:12 AM

The potential for ice jamming to occur near Prince Albert on the North Saskatchewan River exists, according to the Water Security Agency.

Ice jam formation is unpredictable and can cause rapid rises in water levels. This creates the potential for serious and significant flooding.

There have been reports in the past week regarding the potential for ice jamming to occur between the Borden Bridge and Prince Albert.

And now it appears the level of concern is rising.
