MELFORT – A Prince Albert man has been sentenced to life in prison with no parole for 10 years for killing a man described as his friend.

Twenty-three-year-old Antoine Ambrose Lariviere changed his plea to guilty and was sentenced for second-degree murder at Melfort Queen’s Bench on Monday.

Lariviere was arrested last April after the body of Clayton Ralph White, 60, was found on April 21 in his Smeaton area home.

In court it was revealed White died from multiple injuries to his head and abdomen. He suffered a blow to the head from a sharp object – possibly an axe. He also received two gun shots to the abdomen and a single stab wound.
