New Year’s baby is right on time

Jan 1, 2011 | 10:09 AM

A little eight-pound, 14-ounce baby boy named Rylan Lariviere is the first to be born in the Victoria Hospital in 2011.

The baby's mother, Davine Lariviere and father, Jimmy Apesis, were all smiles as they received gifts including a gift certificate for a CPR class from the Parkland Ambulance and a car seat and some other gifts by some very nice nurses on behalf of the Victoria Hospital Foundation.

Those gifts were also welcomed by Rylan’s older brother Xander.

Davine Lariviere’s parents said they were so anxious when their daughter went into labour. They are from Patunak, which is a community about six hours north of Prince Albert. Their daughter is going to school in Prince Albert.
