He hit and killed an 18-year-old flag person on her first day on the job and on Tuesday Keith Dunford of Regina was back in front of a judge.

He is charged with criminal negligence causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

Ashley Richards had just moved to Saskatchewan when she was struck and killed by an SUV in an orange zone in August 2012.

The Weyburn judge overseeing Dunford's preliminary hearing says there is sufficient evidence for the case to proceed at Queen's Bench.
