Mar 4, 2013 | 5:49 AM

Telemiracle is wrapping up after a weekend of music, entertainment and fundraising $5,546,712.

Behind the scenes, public relations chairman Mike Campbell says getting the Kinsmen Foundation's annual fundraising show set up is a pretty big undertaking.

“I don't even know if anybody counts the hours, countless hours get put into it,” he said

In addition to the time, hundreds of volunteers have turned out to make the event possible

“We have almost 600 Kinsmen and Kinette volunteers answering phones, security, food services — and in addition to that there's another 200 production volunteers just to put on the TV production.

Campbell said it all pays off when it comes time to tally up donations at the end of the weekend.

He estimated that over the 36 previous Telemiracles, Saskatchewan people have donated about $96 million, money that has gone towards helping people with things like travel and lodging when they go out of town for treatments, or providing equipment like wheelchairs and walkers to help people get around.

The televised Kinsmen Foundation fundraiser ran until Sunday at 5 p.m.
