Katelyn Lehner took the local track scene by storm in the spring and made her mark on the national scene.

The 15 year old from Carlton Comprehensive High School got her outdoor season off to a sensational start, winning gold in the 80 meter hurdles, 200 meter sprint, high jump and long jump during the city and district track meets at Prince Albert's Harry Jerome facility.

This beginning set the stage for a four gold medal performance in the same events, which included some personal best's at the high school provincials in Moose Jaw.

Her talents were put to the test in June at the Canadian Youth championships.  Katelyn responded with a tremendous run in the 80 meter hurdles missing a medal by just 15-100ths of a second. She was sixth in a blanket finish. Katelyn was also seventh in the 200 and placed ninth in long jump.
