Business of the Day: Tru North

Jan 29, 2013 | 5:44 AM

Located on the service road adjacent Hwy 2 south, Tru North Yamaha RV & Marine is owned and operated by the tandem of Terry Skulmoski and Rick Bueckert.

They've been in business together for 10 years and have built the business to be a one-stop-shop when it comes to recreation — selling boats, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and extended stay trailers, plus a full line of Yamaha products such as snowmobiles, quads, side-by-sides, motor bikes and generators.

“What we like to portray ourselves is the dealership that sells fun. We sell all aspects of recreation,” said Skulmoski. “There are 100,000 lakes in Saskatchewan we got you covered on all of it.”

With Prince Albert on the door step to dozens of lakes, Skulmoski said Tru North is ideally located, so customers can be enjoying their new purchase right away.

The business has been at its present location since 2007, but has moved and expanded three times since it opened. It's gone from three employees to 23, including seven licensed technicians who service everything that comes off the lot.

Skulmoski said what sets them apart from other dealerships is their carefully selected staff.

“We have enthusiasts in everything we that well. The guy that sells motorcycles is an enthusiast in motorcycles.

Almost everybody in the building camps, almost everybody in the building is a boater. So you’re dealing with people that are actually using the stuff that they are selling to you.”
