RCMP investigating thefts at Candle Lake

There may be some grinches in the Candle Lake area.

According to the RCMP, there have seven confirmed break and enters to cottages since Dec. 18..

“Basically what we have is that they are smashing the door, forcing the front door open and quickly rummaging through the cottages … taking items such as liquor, cash, and things that are easily carried out,” said Corporal Kirk Badger with the Smeaton detachment.

He said the doors were forced open using a tool, a boot or a shoulder.

At this time RCMP have no suspects.

“We are currently investigating all (of) the break-ins that have been going on at Candle Lake and if anyone has any information or has seen anything out of the ordinary, they should give us a call.”
