New population record for Saskatchewan

Dec 22, 2010 | 10:28 AM

More people call Saskatchewan home than ever before.

Each bump in population puts us at a new record, and as of October 1, 2010 this province was at 1,049,701. That's an increase of about four thousand.

Statistics Canada says the majority of the newcomers are heading here from other countries. International migration accounted for more than 60 per cent of the growth, while the net migration from other provinces dropped to barely above zero.
