Sask. Pen locked down for search

Jan 16, 2013 | 1:35 PM

Prison officials in Prince Albert are saying very little about a lockdown at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary.

The medium security unit was placed under lockdown Tuesday while part of a cell block was searched.

“That search has now been completed and we expect that (unit) will be opened up later on today,” said Jeff Campbell, spokesperson with the Correctional Service of Canada.

Campbell couldn’t say what triggered the search or if anything was found.
