School division gets share of $7.3 million

The Saskatchewan Rivers School Division is getting some money to help cover increases in teacher contracts.

In total $7.3 million will be split among ten school divisions in the province.

The province is providing the money to bring those boards in line with 17 others who ratified agreements prior to last year’s budget.

Other divisions receiving money are Lloydminster, Ile–a–la–Crosse and Creighton.

The public and Catholic school boards in Regina and Saskatoon will use their share of the money to also cover substitute teachers, prep periods, educational leave, and special allowances.
