Oct 3, 2012 | 8:56 AM

Prince Albert Youth Soccer Association (PAYSA) has announced the hiring of Sean Riggs as the organization's new technical director of soccer operations.

PAYSA secured Riggs after an extensive search, said Rory McIntosh, president of PAYSA.

“Sean will be a great asset to our program.”

“Under his direction we will continue implementing age appropriate training programs consistent with the national long term player development model. Prince Albert has all the pieces in place to achieve this,” McIntosh said.

Riggs bring a wealth of experience to the position. He is a former player with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies and the Saskatoon Accelerators, an indoor professional team. He is also a national level coach with youth programs, and an experienced coach with the Saskatchewan Soccer Association's provincial training programs.

“This is a great day for PAYSA and we are very excited for the future of soccer in Prince Albert,” McIntosh said.

Riggs signed a three contract with an option for an additional two years.
