Klughart leads Northern Men’s Amateurs after Day 1

Prince Albert’s Dan Klughart was the only golfer Saturday to shoot a sub-70 score at the Men’s Northern Amateur Championships at Cooke Municipal golf course, leading after day one.

Klughart shot a 68, two strokes better than anybody else.

Tied for second at 70 are Prince Albert’s Justin Paradis and Dave Stewart, former PA resident who now resides in Saskatoon.

Five golfers are tied for 71, including PA’s Ron Stewart, Ashley Ziegeman and Delisle’s Colin Coben, who will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Golf Hall of Fame Sept. 15.

Match play will start on Sunday, then the flight championships will take place on Monday.
