The Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s national event kicks off today with a walking procession and Saskatoon police are advising motorists of possible delays on some of city’s major roadways.

Both Highway 11 in the north end of the city and the southbound lanes of Idylwyld Drive may experience some backup, police said in a news release.

The walking procession is expected to get underway at 9 a.m. and “while progress may vary, organizers expect the walk to take all morning and into the early afternoon,” said police.
