Police were highly visible last week

Over two days last week, the Prince Albert Police Service conducted a high-visibility initiative in certain areas where crime is prevalent in the city.

These street checks targeted people with outstanding warrants and other criminal behavior in the areas of 13th Street, Central Avenue and along the North Saskatchewan riverbank.

Police spokesman Sgt. Kelly McLean said it’s something the department does a few times per year and involves members from every division of the police force.

“It means we go down there with as many members as we can gather…we’re high visibility, there is no sneaking around, we have as many vehicles as we can get and we flood the area,” explained McLean.
