The Raiders top two picks in May's Bantam Draft will soon hit the national stage. Defenseman Brendan Guhle (1st round, 3rd overall) and Goaltender Nick McBride (2nd round, 23rd overall) have been invited to the NHL Players Association mentorship camp near Toronto.

They are among 42 of the best bantams from around Canada heading to Mississuaga (near Toronto) for the July 17-22 camp which includes a series of seminars in addition to on-ice sessions.

They will be exposed to specialized nutrition, strength and fitness programs developed by former NHL player Gary Roberts. Also on the agenda are discussions on personal responsibility, values and the importance of community involvement.

Guhle displayed slick skating and puck handling abilities to go along with his 6'1″ 165 pound frame this past weekend at Raiders spring camp. He had 9 goals and 15 assists in 32 games last season with the Sherwood Park Bantams. McBride who is already 6'2″ backstopped the Burnaby Winter Club to a Western Canada AAA Bantam title this past season also impressed observers at spring camp for recently drafted and listed players.
