FSIN disappointed with new minister

The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations is disappointed in Friday's major cabinet shuffle.

In a statement, the FSIN said Jim Reiter was not a good choice to be the minister of First Nation, Metis and Northern Affairs because his riding of Rosetown-Elrose has no First Nations communities.

The FSIN said consistency is essential for “good faith” negotiations, but also said it plans to continue working for the government.

The federation also pointed to the new Ministry of Economy, saying it hopes it will appropriately involve First Nations.
