The royal red carpet may not stay dry Wednesday but it has been rolled out for Prince Charles and Camilla to spend the day in the Queen City.

Arriving last night at 9:10 p.m. they were greeted by a crowd of royal enthusiasts at the airport along with Mayor Pat Fiacco, Deputy Premier Ken Krawetz, and the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.

Their Royal Highnesses are staying at the Hotel Saskathewan and they have a full day planned and there are a couple of stops on route where people will have the chance to see them.

The royal couple arrives at the Saskatchewan Legislature at 11:00 a.m. They stay around an hour before going to Government House at 12:15p.m.. These are two of the best spots to see Prince Charles and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall.

Tom Richards with the Monarchist League of Canada says there is no harm in donning a hat or having a poster to catch their eye.

“It's a combination of friendly and unique but not outlandish,” he said.

Richards warns people not to go too over the top dressing up.

“I saw someone last year with Will and Kate who wore those googly-eyed glasses with the springs on them, and security actually went into defensive mode a bit,” he said.

He admits posters might catch attention but probably won't get you a hello, children however are much more likely to get a greeting.

People can also see them at the First Nations University at 1.30 p.m. If you are heading down there, Richards also suggests bringing flowers.

He explained that you have a better chance for a royal encounter carrying flowers.

If you do get lucky and come face to face with the prince or duchess remember there are some etiquette rules to follow.

“Generally you wait and then they'll speak to you, that's my advice to you, it keeps things ordered and coherent,” Richards said.

He noted that the rules of royal etiquette are much more relaxed than they used to be.

This evening the Royal couple will be at the RCMP drill hall for a private concert by the Regina Symphony Orchestra.
