Charges laid in Cumberland House homicide

A 25-year old, Cumberland House Cree Nation man is charged with second degree murder in the death of a 43-year-old man from the Cumberland House Cree Nation.

RCMP were dispatched on Friday at about 2:30 a.m., to a disturbance call at a home on the Cumberland House Cree Nation.

RCMP said, the 43-year-old was found injured following an altercation. He was taken to the Cumberland House Health Clinic, where he died from his injuries shortly after.

The 25-year-old will be appearing in La Ronge Provincial Court on Monday.

The name of the accused will be released once he makes his first court appearance. The name of the deceased is being withheld
