Saskatchewan eyes hosting 2013 Grey Cup

There could be a future bid for the Grey Cup as Saskatchewan eyes the open spot for 2013.

Premier Brad Wall is making the hint there could be a bid to host the Grey Cup in Regina that year, 10 years after the city last played host.

“I think the bid is going to be coming because you know it does do great things for a local economy so I hope it is soon,” Wall said. “I don't have a date for you but I think there will be a bid soon and I hope we are chosen soon.”

Mayor Pat Fiacco hasn't heard anything or been approached but he would welcome the opportunity.

“Wouldn't that be wonderful it did return,” Fiacco said.

CFL commissioner Mark Cohon already stated on News Talk Radio this week that Regina doesn't need a new stadium to host the Grey Cup.
