Wall warns of austerity in upcoming budget

Jan 30, 2012 | 4:42 PM

Premier Brad Wall is trying to downplay expectations for urban leaders in the upcoming budget.

Wall told the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association convention that corporate income taxes and potash revenues are posing a challenge to the bottom line.

He later told reporters there will be program and spending reductions, but no overall cuts in the budget.

The premier says the government can't afford to lose focus even though the economy is strong.
