Opening night for Odyssey Productions

Odyssey Productions is starting out its 19th season by bringing out the laughs with A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody.

Cara Stelmaschuk, with Odyssey Productions, said they try to do three productions every year, including dinner theatre shows. The first one is usually a comedy and aimed to be a good setting for Christmas parties. There is a special rate for groups of more than 15 people.

“For the dinner theater shows, I think that people really just enjoy that it’s really a night out … it feels like a high class experience but at the same time it’s very comfortable. It’s still community theatre,” Stelmaschuk said.

Odyssey Productions is a nonprofit theater company that runs off the work of volunteers.

“There’s always room. Anyone who interested, who wants to come and lend a hand, no experience necessary – were very happy to kind of teach people the basics to get them involved. We just really want everyone to come out and have a good time.”

A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody is written by Ron Burnas and directed by Layla Shuparski. The play runs from Nov 26th to Dec 4th. Performances take place at Carrefour Fransaskois Auditorium on 10th Street East.
