A man charged in the questionable sale of 1,100 Saskatchewan NDP memberships has been committed to stand trial.

Ernest Morin is charged with committing forgery, uttering a forged document and attempting to utter a forged document in connection with the party's leadership campaign last year.

Police launched an investigation after concerns were raised about the validity of memberships sold on two reserves in the Meadow Lake area.

Morin will be tried in Regina's Court of Queen's Bench but a trial date has not been set.
