Charity collecting donations for Philippines flooding victims

Jan 6, 2012 | 3:26 PM

Thousands of people in the Philippines have spent 2012 in cramped evacuation centres after a typhoon devastated the country in December, affecting nearly 118,000 families as well as killing an estimated 1,300.

Stepping Stones Ministries in Saskatoon is collecting donations such as clothing, tools and household items for the families affected by the disaster.

Volunteer Robin Bellamy says they have until next Saturday to fill a 40-foot container.

Bellamy hopes that members of the community step forward to help out those in need of aid.
